‘I miss it everyday’: Gerrard not in a rush to return to management

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has revealed that he is enjoying his break from football management and is in no hurry to return to the dugout.
The former Rangers and Aston Villa boss has been out of management since leaving his position at Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League in January.
Gerrard, 44, admitted that he misses the thrill of playing football and that management hasn’t filled the void as much as he had hoped. “I love it, you know, I miss it every day,” Gerrard said on That Peter Crouch Podcast.
“I speak to Carra [Jamie Carragher] and he goes, ‘I was made up, I hated the last few years.’ I miss it every day, every single day.”
The iconic midfielder also confessed that he is relishing the freedom that comes with not being a manager. ”
I don’t want to be back in work, mate, no. I’m happy with waking up and being free, doing the family stuff, just being free away from stress,” Gerrard said.
Gerrard’s comments come amid speculation linking him with various managerial positions, including a return to Rangers and the vacant post at Blackburn Rovers.
However, the Liverpool legend seems content to take his time and enjoy his break from the intense world of football management.
“I will go in at some point, but when it’s round the clock, I’ve done it 18, 19 months, I want to be free,” Gerrard said.
“I want to play a round of golf, go down the boozer and have a couple of beers, do normal things that you can’t do when you’re coaching.”
